You will also find breathtaking frescos and wall paintings that give you an idea of the artistic taste of the royals of the past. Sheesh Mahal of Amer Fort is one of the prime reasons thousands of tourists flock here around the year. Mughal-ae-Azam’s famous song ‘Pyaar kiya to darna kya’ was shot here. Amer Fort was also included in UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites in 2013. 

  1. Nahargarh Fort

  1. Jal Mahal 

Jal Mahal is another example of Rajputana architecture. Located in the middle of Man Sagar Lake, this place is a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. It is a 5-storey building out of which 4 storeys remain underwater when the lake is filled. It is a one of its kind place that draws hundreds of tourists every day. 

The massive Aravali mountain range behind the palace renders a picture-perfect view which is why pre-wedding shoots are quite common here. 

You will also find a myriad of fish species and migratory birds such as Pintail, Coot, and Kestrel to name a few. 

  1. Jantar Mantar 

Jantar Mantar is another UNESCO, World Heritage Site which was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, who is considered one of the most far-sighted theorists of ancient India. Constructing a well-planned city was his dream which was fulfilled when Jaipur was constructed. 

The five astronomical instruments built here were for the purpose of studying space. These instruments were named Jantar Mantar and that’s how this place got this name. 

It is a must-visit place for tourists and astronomy students. 

  1. Birla Mandir 

Birla Mandir in Jaipur is quite famous and barely needs an introduction. Owing to the beliefs of the locals, this place has gained a prominent place in the list of the most visited places in Jaipur. The construction of the temple started back in 1977 and finished in 1985. 

Constructed with white shimmering marble this temple is in its full glory at night. Images of Hindu deities Maa Laxmi and Shri Narayan made of fine quality marble are the mainstay of this place.

Once the residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur, this was transformed into a hotel by Taj. An epitome of magnificent architecture, this wonderful place is just 8 km from the city of Jaipur.
